bute better win...because outside of the ohio wino, he loses to every other top SMW...dirrell bros, froch, ward, even kessler gives him a run...he may be able to beat AA and pav easily tho...
With glens style? he will seriously walk into not 1.. not 2.. but liek 30 of butes uppercuts.
Bute is a 1 trick pony, We all see it and hopefully you all realize it. The fighter that beats him right now will most likely be a southpaw. Someone with the same stance as him because it makes it far more difficult for him to land that counter upper. That is the reason why any southpaw he's faced has looked better than the orthodox opponents despite them being weaker opposition.
Glen will walk into butes upper, this wont end well. Head AND body, all night.
you haven't been paying attention then
Bute has been working on various things, and it is showing in his fights
you just haven't noticed : much better right hand (hook and jab in his last 2 fights)
also, he didn't use to be such a dangerous puncher : he used to wrk in combos more, and wasn't sitting as much on his punches as he is now
now, he tries to make every punch count, everything is crisp and powerful
it's obvious Larouche wants to developp Bute into a 2 handed fighter, and it's already showing
This fight should show us a little bit more of what Bute is made of. It's a big step up from the Andrade's and Miranda's, but not elite level like he's supposed to be fighting. I understand he wanted Kessler, that's good for him, but I think he wanted Kessler cause he didn't look THAT good in hs comeback fight, even though he won by stoppage. Bute was eager to fight Kessler for a reason. With a good win over Stieglitz, Kessler would be completely ready and no longer rusty. Johnson>Pavlik BTW. I like this fight more.
what are you talking about
Kessler looked great in dispatching that tomato can
tomato can or not, we could see Kessler's game was on top
he was even using that beautiful left to the body of his that he hadn't been using for a long time
this is NOT a 'stepping-up' fight for Bute -- it is a low risk, high reward fight for him -- no way he loses to Johnson and could very well stop him -- I wish I could have stayed 41 as long as Johnson has been listed at that age!
Bute wins this, but can he knock him out? If he can, then we know he is the real deal. Glen Johnson has a hell of a chin and if it gets smashed then we know Bute's power is for real.
Johnson looked pretty good in there against Froch. This fight will be a good test to see if Bute is world class or a pretender. I mean, Froch's victory over Johnson was not an easy one, and personally I think Froch is a lot better than Bute.
It's a good fight. We're not coming out of a fight with Johnson without a clear picture of how good Bute really is.
And I LOVE to see Glen getting another title shot. He's deserved every one.
