Comments Thread For: Sechew Powell on Sparring With Mayweather, Career

On June 25th, junior middleweight contender Sechew Powell made a bid for his first world title when he met IBF champion Cornelius ‘K-9’ Bundrage for a second time. Powell had stopped Bundrage in eighteen harrowing seconds six years ago, a fight in which the two men traded knockdowns in the opening seconds before Powell would rise to ice Bundrage off with a straight left hand, and there was no reason to think he wouldn’t have success in the rematch.

Floyd brought a lot of experience and really good size into camp.

Don’t know why because he’s only fighting a fighter whose inexperienced and knows he could beat him anyway, hence why Floyd is fighting again in 2011.

Because as a true professional, he always does A-level preparation.

A loss because you left something in the gym derails everything. Everything.

I'm pretty sure he's landing because floyd is letting him once in a while. Floyd is probably trying to get accustomed to good punches....Either way,it's great for Powell!

A few years back, I thought Powell or Cintron would be the ones to beat Floyd.

Somebody of that size with good skills and decent handspeed.

The irony is that he's a comfortable favorite to beat any fighter around the weight so what the hell do you suggest as proper prep? Train on the couch and wait to get beat by a lesser fighter?
