Thank you for an excellent article and providing the big picture about the whole tourney and the stakes. While other writers are still arguing whether or not there were low blows, you have stated the obvious, without looking for blame, what-if's, and so on. The rematch is a necessity, although I am disappointed about two things. (1) That Mora only got a slap on the wrist, for what may have been one of the worst ref***** in boxing history. He should either be banned from boxing altogether or at least put on a year suspension. "talking" to a more experienced ref is a pitiful punishment for such a horrific job. (2) The belt should be stripped from Mares. Both he, his people, Showtime ,Golden Boy, the commission, and everyone else know the fight was a farce and he did not win. He should have been disqualified.
