By making TWO BAD knockdown calls against Agbeko and not taking a single point from Mares for repeated low blows, Mora literally took the fight from the rightful winner (Agbeko) and gave it to Mares. That fight should be declared a NC, the belt returned to Agbeko, and a rematch ordered.

Or if it had been properly officiated, Agbeko should have won by a close decision.

Corrupt or incompetent, or just having a terrible night, I really have no idea. But one thing that's interesting is that Mora was the same ref that allowed an incredibly game Fernando Montiel to continue after taking that monster shot from Donaire and after somehow getting to his feet (ready to go) before 10. I actually think in that instance, he made an incredibly tough... GOOD call... by giving the benefit of the doubt to Montiel in that moment, especially with the heart and determination he showed in getting up from a shot like that. Donaire then swarmed and landed one more left hook before Mora jumped in but he did the RIGHT thing by giving Montiel a chance to defend himself and not just stopping that fight straight away, as many refs might have done given how hard Montiel went down.

and made a quick call for a DQ when he realized they were intentional and a pattern was developing'


mares developed a pattern of hitting agbeko low
and moor systematically found ways around even taking a single point away

When you Ref a fight you watch the fighters previous fights, he knows about the low-blows but couldnt do anything.

F*** Mora. If you have any doubt he was bribed watch the fight again and watch many times he warns Agbeko for doing nothing while ignoring 25+ low blows from Mares (who's is well known as a dirty fighter even prior to this fight). Dude is flat out corrupt.
