Uh, the Matthysse vs. Morales winner will want to fight Amir Khan to unify the belts for big $$$.

Why would they want to fight a guy moving up in weight who couldn't even win a title at 135? (interim championships don't count)

I think fighting the loser might be more realistic for Kats at the moment.

Katsidis should be gunning for the loser in my opinion. His record at 147 is almost non-existent and he should be testing the waters before going for the bigger fish. Lozcada was hardly a tuneup fight to enter into the Light Welterweight division. He should have been fighting people like Mallignagi (if he's willing to go back down and fight Katsidis) and Alexander. Even the loser of the Morales-Matthysse fight would be a step up for Katsidis.

I'm disgusted that Katsidis keeps getting shots at the elite levels, and on the biggest stages.

He has demonstrated that he is not on that level.

What is he supposed to do, keep knocking out b-level competition? Then people will complain about how he won't step up instead.

On the contrary, Katsidis is not the most technical or fastest boxer out there, but he is athletic, strong, durable and powerful. That has gotten him very far in his career.

Also, he has been competitive at the elite level. He was turning the tide against Casamayor and was ahead on two of the judge's scorecards when he got wreckless and got caught. He had a close lost to Juan Diaz.

He started out good against Marquez, even dropping him once.

                    .
No. Not that he keeps pursuing it. But that the networks are giving him dates that should go to more qualified opposition.
