    Chico/Chavez and Castillo/Cotto

I would love this on a card...

Diego "Chico" Corrales vs Jesus Chavez or Juan Diaz @ 135

and Jose Luis Castillo vs Miquel Cotto or Hatton @ 140

I also wonder how Chico would do vs Zaheer Rahim. Rahim is no Mayweather, but the style is there. I think Chico is a better fighter than he was vs Floyd, but again the style is still there.

135 is still packed for Corrales so he chose to stay there.

    Diego Corrales
Juan Diaz - poor mans Hatton, Corrales wins
Jesus Chavez - very tough, not sure
Zahir Raheem - very tough style wise, favor Raheem
Eric Morales - tough, Morales is Morales, favor Chico
Joel Casamayor - tough, 50/50 always, favor Chico SLIGHTLY
Lakva Sim - again tough but not enough power, favor Chico
Nate Cambell - Nate is a good boxer, favor Chico
Juan Lazcano - entertaining fight, favor Chico
Acelino Freitas - no need, favor Chico

Chico knocks out bot Chavez and Diaz. However id like to see him against Julio Diaz or Juan lazanno that would certainly be an interesting matchups.

Corrales v. Chavez would be an interesting fight.
Raheem would absolutely with no doubt bring problems to Chico

I'm still wondering why people think Castillo would win this. Castillo has been virtually fighting at 135 his entire career. When you get into 140 its a WAY different ball game.

I don't know if you caught onto the issue in Castillo's career for the past few...but he has always been a big lightweight...big frame...a strong lightweight...he like a lot of fighters has drained himself to be 135 for a while now and usually weighs in on fight night about 145-150...you talk as if 140lbs for this man is out of reach...the reason he has a chance vs Cotto is because he has an iron chin, great workrate, very skilled, experienced, he has been in with the best so Cotto wouldn't be much new...

dont get me wrong, I am NOT saying it is a SURE win for Castillo...but just YOU don't think that Castillo moving to 140 is a SURE loss for him either...

I would still favor Castillo over Cotto from what I have seen recently...but despite a weak chin, people just cannot forget about Cotto's power

Stevie Johnston struggled his entire career to make the lightweight limit. He had plenty of fights at 140 where he carried more of his power. That did not stop Castillo from beating him. I would also go so far as to say Stevie Johnston was a much more impressive fighter than Miguel Cotto.

its only five pounds, and cotto is taylor made for castillo, barley any defense, and not a great chin. similar style to chico, just brawling, but chico has the better boxing skills and more power.
castillo with a mid round ko/tko
