The gif speaks for itself. It's a devastating punch that landed and a 'blue print' for any southpaw...

No fighting at Welterweight stunted his career. He picked up bad fundamentals and didn't plug the holes in his game because he was able to dominate opponents much smaller than himself.

If he fought fighters in a higher weight class he would learn to use his jab.

I'd say the first Martinez fight took all those claims away. Besides, the "most feared man" stuff was bullcrap, like it is with Martinez now.

That shot was coming with Paul. We saw it in the first Martinez fight, we saw it briefly against Cintron, and then it happened. Guys as crazy reckless as the Punisher and that fight everyone like Paul are bound to catch that shot.

no. the fact that he doesnt improve, he fights like a short man, hasnt changed anything even since his first fight with sergio getting smacked repeatedly with the left did...that ko punch was just icing on the cake

PWILL just like Berto have needed new trainers for a very long time

Agreed. Lack of head movement and improvement of his defense has stalled his career more than anything else. He's taken a lot of shots in a fairly short amount of time because of it, and the perfectly timed huge shot was probably inevitable. If not from Martinez, someone else.

The Lara fight and all the backlash will probably hurt him a bit more, but Haymon will continue to get him on TV.
