Typically, saying mind games aren't working means they are working. I got Dawson in this fight, but I don't have much confidence in that pick.

i used to be all out pumped for this fight

back when chad dawson was "the best kept secret in boxing"

then the level of pumpedness subsided

and now it's back up again

IF dawson actually puts his foot on the pedal this should be a great fight.

he's got the tools to make bernard work harder than he's able to at 47

he has to get on the gas.
and bernard has to convince him that it's a bad idea. that's going to be his job

dawson has wanted this fight for a long time
if he steps on the gas it could be a classic.

chad's too long and fights too tall for bernard to simply tie up if he's jabbing
he's gonna have to jump in and i'm not sure he's got the footspeed any more for that, and that's why we've been seeing him standing toe to to more

it's been a long time, but dawson has been in some very exciting fights (adamek and johnson 1)

        and on the other hand
this also has the potential to be one of the dullest of the year

Dawson should win this fight. I can see it going the way of Hopkins/Taylor I with Chad not getting quite as winded as Jermaine did.

This fight is about as interesting as watching paint dry. Dawson should fight like a man and go for the KO, it's obvious Hopkins only has the power to KO guys that are Jr. middleweights and that is even suspect!!!!!!!!. This fight has to be one of the biggest ppv jokes in the history of boxing. There needs to be a revaluation of ppv prices as for example this fight is worth a price tag of $10.95. Another example would be the victor Ortiz card with Floyd Maynever that fight card should have a suggest retail of 39.95 because of the action you could expect to witness from Mexican fighters. And also having two young up and comers like Ortiz and Alvarez accompanied with the huge desire by 99.9999999999 of boxing fans to see Maynever take an L, make the Ortiz Mexican independence day card worth $39.95.

I have a hard time seeing how Hopkins can win this fight. He's not active enough or fast enough in my opinion.

                But we'll see.

only Dawson can make this a watchable fight -- by being aggressive, throwing punches in combo and boxing rings around BHop -- think he'll do it

give it a few weeks and I swear Hopkins will be inside Dawsons head. Dawsons has ability, but he cannot handle with what Hopkins will beat him with physically and mentally.

No way does Dawsons beat Hopkins
