  • HBO Wanted Donaire vs Darchinyan Rematch, Top Rank Says No

Donaire back on HBO 11/5. Network inquired with @trboxing about a @filipinoflash-Darchinyan rematch. TR not interested. Has a short list.
WTF Top Rank? I like Vic vs Nonito II.

Should have made it, it would be an action packed fight with Donaire winning by brutal KO. It's a keep busy fight for Donaire that would have been good.

The first fight was good and competitive before the ko. Don't forget that! Vic was ABSOLUTELY in the fight! He made one mistake and paid for it. I don't think he'd do the same again. But Arum is a scumbag and doesn't want dangerous fights for his golden hen.

Arum would never put his fighter against another promoters fight unless, {1} His fighter is a no name B-side guy who would gain from winning against the other guy. {2} His fighter might be in danger of losing.{3} Doesnt want to work with another promoter..

This is why i laugh when i see uninformed 'wannabe' boxing fans talking about ducking when it comes to fighters who supposely dont want to face fighters from Top rank.

maybe it was competitive about 5% of the time, but it wasn't even close even before the KO
