  • Comments Thread For: Guerrero on Mayweather-Ortiz, Pacquiao-Marquez, Khan

In the first part of my interview with former champion Robert ‘The Ghost’ Guerrero, we discussed in-depth his August 27th challenge of Argentinean brute Marcos Maidana. The HBO-televised attraction could pan out to be one of the year’s best fights and I find it interesting that Guerrero, who started his career at 122 pounds, is now around some of the biggest names at 140 and 147 pounds.

Marquez has a good chance to win by decision if he decides to be cautious all the way.
Win smart or get tkoed trying to slug it out with your heart.
This has always been marquez weakness ... he gets careless at times ...

pac has advanced/evolved in boxing level/skills since both marquez fights,
while marquez of the past is the marquez of the present.
i see pac going in and out and left to right,
making this more of a boxing clinic than a brawl.
dont get me wrong, marquez will get some shots in,
but pac will be smart and dominate using his jabs and the entire ring,
we will see a so much different fight than the first two fights,

its a shame tho, cuz in the end, marquez will be called as over the hill and way over his weight class. as for the "over the hill" thing...i think marquez is the type of fighter than can box til he is 40+ and still beat alot of the top young guns around.

Good article, Guerrero was good at assessing the upcoming fights. He's right about Pacquiao/Marquez III being a mismatch(atleast thats what I think he is saying).

I wouldn't be surprised to see Marquez get knocked down 4 times before the 6th round and the finally get knocked out in the 7th or 8th round. Manny is too fast and too strong.

Juan Manuel Marquez always had the skill set to beat Manny Pacquiao but just like to exchange too much. If he dedicated himself to being a counter puncher and technical boxer then Manny Pacquiao would have never beat him or came close in their two fights at 130. I still think Marquez is technically a better fighter than Manny but at this point. Pac may hit to hard for a guy like Marquez who gets hit alot. I will never count Marquez out though but fight should have happened immediately after the rematch or atleast after Pac fought Diaz at 135. Good interview by Guerrero.

Marques is an old man, but Manny is also showing his age.

There is no denying the fact, Manny's work rate and movement has gone noticeably down. I still think Manny will spank Marquez. But I think Floyd would beat Manny at this point in time.

i wouldnt be surprised to see Marquez catch Manny with a flush counter similiar to how Morales caught Maidana. a shot no one expected. does it bother Manny, i dont know, he will probably just get more fired up.
