some notes from the BHOP/Taylor press conference

    from Taylor:
-talked about how life has changed since the first fight
-thinks he showed too much respect in the first fight
-says Bernard knows how strong he is
-feels he still has something to prove, trained hard, can't wait till this fight
-going to train 100% still, can't wait to look forward to training camp

    from Hopkins:
-says Taylor got the victory, but he didn't actually beat Bernard Hopkins
-says its gets to a point with an industry champion or "future" champion, he must understand that there's alot at stake and involved in who should've won/who shouldn't have won
-"if you just deal with the last round, it could've easily made it a draw" (the first fight)
-"i'm at peace, if you've been following Bernard Hopkins, you understand im at my best, when it's comes to proving a point, to show that i'm the better fighter, better athlete, at 40 and a half years old"
-"I'm at my best, when i know i gotta beat the system again!"
-"This is my last fight of meaningful significance."
-"I didn't expect to be here talking about a rematch"
-"Last fight to me, for what i've stood up for."

    from Hopkins at the podium:
-during the conference, Hopkins gave Taylor respect and thinks he could be a future great champ.
-Hopkins says it'll be a great fight.
-says it isn't about belts for him.
-more of a fight of him instead of just Taylor
-talks about the interesting after-fight comments from Taylor, the "I'm gonna do better next time" type comments, says he knew, in his heart, that he didn't deserve to become champion.
-funny: said Taylor talks better than him!
    -says no third fight

    from Taylor:
-never backed down from any fight, not scared
-says, "i'm so sick of the crying, as a matter a fact, I brought him a little present."
-brought him a toy that played the music twinkle, twinkle little star (Bernard stands up, laughing)
-say's "if the toy doesn't work, maybe she's wet" (talking about his baby daughter) he pulls out a diaper "so i change her pamper"
also pulls out a baby bottle
-"All playing aside, im a fighter. That's what i do. I don't have anything to do with judges. To state the truth, yes, i was upset about that last round. In the second fight, it's not gonna happen. He has no power, has no speed, this man has nothing."
    *Taylor's speech was pretty funny

oh, weeeee. im hyped for this fight. two months to go tho.

yeah, even though he could still punch, it's better to throw the towel at that age.

Did you guys see the first fight? WHy should he throw in the towel? It's not like he was pummeled all over the ring like Tyson's washed up ass. B-Hop will win the rematch.

I'm excited for the fight too. I think both guys are going to give everything they have. Taylor to try and prove that the first fight wasn't a fluke and to end all the dispute, and Hopkins to prove he was robbed in the first fight and is one of the best middleweights of all time. I can't wait.

Not to mention Larios-Vasquez on the undercard.

no, i didn't mean he can't punch or he's old.
it's just that he dominated middleweight for a very long time, i think he deserves a good retirement.i'm sure he'll land a spot in the hall of fame after that.

Why should he retire if he can still win matches? Look at Clemens in baseball, or even Foreman in boxing. Retiring doesn't have to be immediately when people think you're over the hill. In some people's cases it would've been a good idea, not for B-Hop though. He's got enough in the tank for a fight or two left.

                we'll, its just my opinion, couldn't argue w/ u.

but, one thing's for sure, he still pack puch, and taylor respects him for that.
expect a "better" bhop this next rematch.

B-Hop isnt washed up. He is just like TONEY old school . Totally composed and relaxed in the ring. Thats why they can make 12 rounds easily
