According to former champion Humberto Soto, he might sign a promotional agreement with Golden Boy Promotions in order to secure a future fight with fellow Mexican Erik Morales. A few months ago, Soto declared himself a free agent from Zanfer Promotions and Top Rank, although technically his contract with Top Rank had expired years ago. Since the announcement, several offers have been presented to Soto.

I don't like to use triangle theories but in some ways I think Soto is thinking damn Rios ran through Antillon like it was nothing while Soto had a tough war against Antillon. He knows Rios is a hungry bad ass. I had Soto clearly beating Antillon in a war.

Soto has been hiding away in Mexico defending his WBC tittle against C+ opponents just to get a crack at Morales or Barrera. He knew if he lost even once that would backtrack his career like it has been backtracked many times because of his losses. That's the reason he ducked the best lightweight in Brando Rios. Hopefully Morales wins and his first tittle defense should be against Soto. Not a bad match up. Winner of that gets the winner of Maidana/Guerrero?

Soto would be going in and out and connecting while rios takes 5 to land 2-3. Rios pressuring while soto uses his legs and combinations. Rios trapping Soto in the corner and going to work. Soto slipping and sliding out of danger and regrouping....and then we do it all over again untill Soto falls or it goes to the cards.
