    Guerrero vs Matthysse

    Robert Guerrero vs Lucas Matthysse

Guerrero is one of the most underrated fighters around today. He's very skilled, and also not afraid to mix it up. Whether he becomes a top p4p fighter or not, I can't imagine too many scenarios where he's not fun to watch

Matthysse has always been considered "Maidana, but with more skill"... He doesn't have Maidana's viciousness, but he does have a lot of power, and he throws his punches with much more precision. Since Guerrero's not afraid to fight, he may find himself in a good scrap here...

    What do u think?

    What do u think?
Underrated? Most fans here are picking him to demolish Maidana like its nothing. Very few are picking Maidana to win. If anything he is one of the most overrated. And he won't mix it up against Maidana, he is going to try to jab and run thats his game-plan against Maidana.

      Really?

I'm talking from the star-power POV... He's not a big money fighter despite deserving to be.

What were his mistakes JD? Fighting in another fighters back yard, maybe? Cause that's about it bro. IMO & the eyes of most he did enough to win both those fights. He has good skill for a puncher, really good boxer puncher.

The mistakes were fighting in someone's backyard as if they were on Neutral territory, trying only to win by just a point or to. He should have been going in there looking for the KO... U don't go to someone else's hometown and try to win a decision if u don't have to, which he doesn't with his power.

Unless he's simply not able to, he needs to start going into fights with much more intensity, and stop trying to outbox boxers. I'm not saying he didn't more or less win those fights, but only an idiot would go into someone else's hometown and expect to snag a victory by a point or 2

I don't think he simply just tried to win on points. He simply didn't stop them. But that doesn't mean he lost imo.

I don't think he lost, I just think he didn't do enough to truly "win". U have to adapt ur scoring to the "golden boy/hometown" if u really wanna be accurate. I know that's not right, but that's how boxing is and always was... So what else u gonna do? He should have known that and should have went in those fights guns blazing looking for a KO... That's something he didn't do.

While I understand what your saying, I don't think you get me. I don't think Lucas just tried to win on points. He just couldn't stop them. He isn't Maidana, there are very good boxing skills within Lucas. It is harder to stop fighters on a higher level than bums in his backyard. But if a man drops a fighter in a ten round fight & dominates 3 other rounds in that fight he should win.
