Comments Thread For: Antonio Tarver Wants a Homecoming Defense in Orlando

IBO cruiserweight champion Antonio Tarver would like to stage a homecoming defense in Orlando, Florida. Tarver, 42-years-old, gave his career a new lease on life with a recent stoppage victory over Danny Green in Australia. Tarver has been talking about a possible rematch with Bernard Hopkins, who faces the mandatory challenger to his WBC lightweight heavyweight title, Chad Dawson, on October 15 in Los Angeles. A Hopkins-Tarver rematch is sure to fall in Las Vegas or Atlantic City.

How about Steve Cunningham? He's been calling Tarver out, but Tarver seems to want none of it.

How about he wins a legit world title before he gets a homecoming?

Seriously why is it that the IBO belt gets so much play at Cruiserweight? Danny Green was a fake ass bum of a champ and if Tarver wants recognition he should fight one of real champions at his weight.

If Tarver fights in Orlando he'll loose, or rather the promoter will lose a ton of $$$ Orlando DOES NOT in any way support boxing...the only support where fans come out is the choked-up Majic...no boxing in the papers and there hasn't been a live boxing show in more than a year, and even there no press... and the FL Boxing commission is pure **** the way promoters are avoiding FL...that's why DiBella went to NY...FL is nothing more than a club fight state...fight here and checks will be bouncing

He should just have the fight in his back yard. Since there wont be more than 20 people in the arena if he ever fights in Orlando.

Orlando and most Florida sport's team fans are complete garbage and not loyal. Hell even when the Big 3 came to the Heat the stands are always empty and people come 30min late and leave 30 min early. Marlin games always empty, etc.

Maybe only Dolphins have some real fans, aside from that Floridians SUCK at supporting their teams, its really pathetic.

Theres a reason theres no Boxing fights there. Wack ass commission + fans.

              Tarver deserves better.

Antonio Tarver Vs. Steve Cunningham in Orlando Fl. for The IBO and IBF Cruiserweight Championship or Antonio Tarver Vs. Marco Huck for The IBO and WBO Cruiserweight Championship. Please make happen!
