According to manager Tony Tineo, the WBC featherweight champion in recess, Elio "The Kid" Rojas (22-1, 13KOs), will return on September 9th at the Indoor Sports Complex in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic. Rojas' comeback opponent has been named, Arturo Gomez (18-17-5, 8KOs) of Mexico. Rojas has been out of the ring since last February's title defense against Guy Espadas Jr. The boxer was plagued with a right hand injury that required surgery and months of therapy. He hopes the hand will have no problems in the fight.
