MAYWEATHER's Training Camp: Sechew Powell, Deandre Latimore, Kassim Ouma (Aug 8)

FLOYD MAYWEATHER: "EVERYBODY ELSE HAS BEEN IMPRESSED...I THINK I CAN DO BETTER"

"I've been boxing Kassim Ouma; he's been giving me some good work. I got Kassim Ouma, Deandre Latimore, Sechew Powell, and I got some other guys that came in. I got 4, 5 or 6 guys, so I got some good work. Everbody else has been impressed with my work, but I think I can do better," stated undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather, who took a brief break from his busy training schedule to give us an update on how everything has been going for his upcoming September 17 return to the ring to face WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz.

That's an insane sparring roster. Maybe the single best I've heard of for one fight.

Well, Floyd had Ishe Smith as a sparring partner for the Mosley fight.

      That is top flight work.

Oscar had a GREAT lineup for The World Awaits.

Sparring with Jr Middleweights and Middleweights. Floyd knows that's what Ortiz is gonna be weighing on fight night. Smart move to pick decent 154-160 guys as sparring partners, to get used to the possible size difference. They are not exactly top 10, but they're decent when it comes to sparring.

It doesn't really matter, it's just sparring.

There were reports of Ricky Hatton getting beat up by unknown sparring partners while training for Pacquiao. A picture of him with a black eye from sparring even surfaced UK news.

Doesn't really matter who you spar with.

                Always tougher to find southpaws.

But those guys have good height like Ortiz.

JMM should bring in Gato to prep for Manny.

You're talking about Figueroa right? Didn't he get kicked out of Cotto's training camp because he supposedly beat Cotto up/was too much for Cotto?
