Byrd - W. Klichko next? Would you rather see Brewster-Wlad II or Byrd-Wlad II?

In a recent interview given in Moscow, Wlad stated that he wants to fight either Byrd or Brewster, depending on who becomes available first.

However, he said that the fight with Byrd is more interesting to him. Would you prefer to see Brewster-Wlad II or Byrd-Wlad II?


I think Brewster is definitely a more interesting fight. However, strategically, the fight with Byrd is a much better choice, since in the event of beating Byrd, Wlad can still easily guarantee a fight with Brewster. It would not work the other way around, since in the event of defeating Brewster, Wlad will loose the status of a mandatory challenger for Byrd, and the Wlad-Byrd fight will never happen.

Wladimir Klitschko eyes world champion title

MOSCOW, October 8 (RIA Novosti) -- Ukrainian super-heavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko wants to fight for the world champion title as soon as possible, he said at a news conference in Moscow Saturday.

"I don't want to wait 10 or 12 months. I will do my best to do it as soon as possible," the younger Klitschko said.

He continued that he would have to fight either American Cris Byrd or Lamon Brewster.

"Of these two, I would prefer Cris Byrd," he said, explaining that it would be more of a challenge for him to fight this boxer.

Klitschko also shared his impressions from his fight with Nigerian Samuel Peter, which took place on September 24 in Atlantic City and ended with the Ukrainian's victory. "Samuel Peter used some forbidden tricks and I was not ready for that of course," he said. "The referee saw it, but I was not going to argue him."

"Samuel Peter was one of the most promising boxers in the super-heavy weight category until he met me," Klitschko said.

Wladimir Klitschko said that his visit to Russia was unofficial and that in several days he would go to Los Angeles where his older brother Vitali was training to fight against American Hasim Rahman.

i dont like Wlad talking **** but whatver...i think he should fight brewster,because he has more to prove in that fight then just killing Chris again. Yea, I don't understand how Byrd can be more of a challange if he already beat Byrd once. He should try to avenge his loss to Brewster, what would another win over the bum Byrd do to imporve his legacy. I guess he just wants to beat Byrd so they can finally achieve their goal of holding title belts at the same time. Don King is going to do everything he can not to let Vitali to touch Byrd and fight Brewster. Then again Byrd is suing Don King, so maybe he won't care about Byrd's belt. I'd much rather see Brewster vs Wlad. It would just be more exciting because of the KO potential in the fight on both sides. The Byrd fight would probably make HBO after dark, no way is this a ppv fight.

for gods sake with the same line of bull****. there are maybe 3 or 4 heavies who could beat wlad, and its highly unlikely they would. brewster is by far the best chance to beat wlad, that is why the haters want to see this fight made, otherwise they have to see wlad win x amount of bouts until they should meet in the future.

as stated by someone above, the only way that both these fights happen is if wlad fights byrd first. if he fights brewster first, the byrd matchup will never get made.

so for that reason i want wlad vs byrd. wlad would wlak through him and be ready for brewster in 4-5 months. brewster would be ready to go.

both these fights will happen in the next year if he goes with byrd first, and i think he knows this. fighters always know where the dollar$$$$$$ are.

Thats not going to happen again. either he fights or he hangs them up. wlad is mandatory, no more excuses.

If Byrd does not see 3 mill for fighting Toney, or Toney sees more money elsewhere, then I would not be surprised if Byrd fights Wlad in the near future. Byrd will just cash in before he retires and I bet K2 will put the most cash out to get Byrd in the ring. That being said, I would rather see Wlad against Brewster and Vitali against Byrd.

Given only those two choices, I would like to see Wlad remove Byrd from the HW scene FIRST! Get rid of that guy once and for all.

I like Brewster, so I wouldn't mind waiting a little to see Wlad get that title back.

In a perfect world, I would like Wlad to fight Brewster, then Ruiz and leave Byrd for his brother.
