i wonder if JLC wouldve paid up right away.

only a hypothetical cause obviously he wasnt considering the possibility of being knocked out

if i'm correct the bet was made after the second weigh-in, so Shaw should pay the scale cheat. the next fight should be at 140 and Shaw should go double or nothing, that's what real gamblers do.
he's wrong for not paying, a bet is a bet. plus whats a 100k to a promoter, all they have to do is rip off one of their fighters. they do it ll the time anyway.

how does a promoter get more cash then the fighter? it blows my mind....

i think someone should rip Shaws nuts off and shove em down his throat.

i believe this would go a long way towards putting promoters in their place

The bet was made after Castillo weighed in Saturday afternoon. Shaw made the bet thinking Castillo wasn't fully prepared but since he knocked out Corrales I guess it's a different story. Castillo told Shaw in the ring "pay me" then Shaw walked off and Bob Arum told Castillo seconds after that he would pay Castillo the $100,000.

If this is true, then it is very ungentlemen like.

i know you can make side bets in poker games and you are legally required to honor them, how is this different??
If its not on paper its not legally biding.

First off the idiot has no place as a promoter betting on the outcome of his fight - It has a very negative reflection on the whole industry, and puts unecessary pressure on his fighter.

Secondly he should pay up and get stuffed. All you see him do is complain.

Whenever I view posts that deal with news or rumors, I'd prefer to be referred to the source of the information, so that we don't just post away like speculative talking heads on material that may or may not be true.

                      Wrong.

Terms of acceptance are engaged as soon as one party even nods their head in agreement.

Its called a mutually binding contract.
