  • Comments Thread For: Gomez: Saul Alvarez is a Fraud, a Lie, and I'll Prove It!

Alfonso Gomez (23-4-2, 12 KOs) is not impressed with the fame or the undefeated record of Saul "El Canelo" Alvarez (37-0-1, 27 KOs). Gomez challenges Alvarez for his WBC junior middleweight title on September 17 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The battle will be showcased on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Victor Ortiz pay-per-view. Gomez considers Alvarez a hyped-up, promotional product which and views him as ratings creation by Mexican television network Televisa.

I think that loss to Cotto was a good thing for Gomez. He may have went into that fight thinking he was better than he really was and now it taught him to fix alot of mistakes. I just don't know if Gomez wants to get hit that much against someone like Alvarez. Gomez will be the naturally smaller man in that ring.

Depends how both boxers fight. I'm not sure Gomez should go toe to toe with Alvarez. People have questioned Alvarez's chin because Jose Cotto shook it up when he came out of retirement but I just think that was a really good shot from Cotto. I guess Gomez could land something like that but Gomez really isn't known for his power.

I think this fight has a remake of Cotto vs Gomez all over it. Not that I don't think Gomez is a decent fighter, I just see Alvarez putting him in his place like Cotto did.

Dwyers twisting my mind, he has me thinking Gomez has a legit shot!

I should stop watching his videos, they tend to rub off on me. I like how he analyzes fights but sometimes he does too much analyzing which is why he has been dead-wrong lately.
