Well I don't think that a lot of people in here take Chavez Jr as a true champion. The only guys who actually keep saying that 43 have tried and 43 have failed are Mushadeen and The Smash, and I didn't know that daggum also defended Chavez Jr but I just saw that earlier in this same thread.
What can we really say about Chavez Jr? He's a mediocre champion, he won the fight against Zbik for a title that was striped from Sergio Martinez, and other than Zbik (decent skills, no punching power power at all) his record consists of bums.

That fight actually made me wanna see more of Zbik. If dude had some power he'd be real nice.
Can he legitimately be called a world champion? No. Is he being protected? Oh hell yes.
But look at it this way: He is a very legit top 15 in the world in a pretty good weight class. He has a lot of heart, and he puts on very exciting fights.
He turned pro with zero amateur experience and a TON of pressure on him (being both the son and namebearer of one of the most revered fighters ever) and he was able to accomplish all this.
A lot better than Ronald Hearns, Camacho jr, Pryor jr, the list goes on and on and on.....
I hate the system (the WBC) but I definitely don't hate on JCC jr. Can't hate on him or his promoter for working within the system to make the most money possible, this is a business afterall.
