Why didn't Winky Wright want a rematch against Jermain Taylor?

That fight was very close and scored as a draw. Winky said he had no interest in a rematch immediately after the fight in the post fight interview. It seemed to me that Winky might have had doubts about being able to win the rematch. Thoughts???

because its Winky and he started crying about money like he always does. He swears he's a star attraction. He lost out on so many big fights because of that ego

winky wright thought he's worth 3+ millions per fight since he beat a fat trinidad and credited himself for pulling 500k ppv buys

Because, Winky -like plenty other times- overvalued himself.

He wanted a bigger split. Not the 50/50 that Taylor was offering.

Winky Wright wanted more money. Cant blame him. He was what P4P Number 2,3? Getting long in the tooth and has seen a lot of hardships in his career regarding decisions.

Lucky for JT , the fight didnt happen again.

No need to. Wright won that fight and anybody who watched the fight could see that. Taylor received home cooking. Plus, there was no money to be made in a rematch.

It is false that he wanted more than 50-50. He actually wanted 50-50 because Taylor got the bigger share in the first fight, so since it was a draw, Winky felt it should be 50-50 the second time. But Team Taylor/DiBella wanted the Lion's share again. Which basically was too much, because Taylor was The Ring/WBC/WBO champion while Winky was bringing: Nothing.

Winky Wright: "50-50 Or No Rematch"

Even with getting the lesser split, Winky Wright turned down a guaranteed $5 Million dollars for the rematch. Which is a big guarantee nowadays, and was even bigger in 2007.

Taylor/DiBella never offered 50-50. And i'm a Taylor fan and a critic of Winky's decisions.
