I read on Boxingscene.com that Klitschko is supposed to be the stronger of the two. I disagree: when focussed, Rahman has a great powerful jab and a tremendous powerful right hand. Hasim knocked Sanders down and Lewis out - Klitschko managed to do neither. Besides, he is strong in clinches.
Who is the stronger of the two in your honest opinion?
Don't see how you can make a fair analysis based on "fight vs. fight" comparison. There are far to many variables. Sanders also knocked Rahman through the ropes does that mean anything? He didn't do that to Vitali, does that mean Rahmans weaker? NO!

I don't know of any scientific data to determine who's stronger.

What do you mean by stronger? Punch or functional strength.

We all saw Vitali push Lennox Lewis around the ring, who was bigger and was decidedly stronger than Rahman in both of their fights if I recall correctly.

I think the myth of Rahman being this super imposing bull of a man stems from that press conference when Rahman pushed Lewis back, who was off balance, and the two fell through a table.

Vitali is physically stronger. He will outmuscle him in the clinches and hurt him with anything that lands flush. Rahman is a harder and sharper puncher, but he has a very weak set of whiskers. He just doesn't have the durability to hang with Klitschko.

I have been watching Rahman spar this last week. He just sparred Kevin McBride, the guy who just stopped Tyson, and cut him on McBride's 3rd round. It was Rahman's 5th round. From what I've seen, if Rahman works his hard jab to get inside, VK is going to be feeling those toward the later half of the fight. Oh, and if Rahman gets body shots in...he might be able to stop VK. I'll keep the board posted about Rahman's behaviors and training.

It doesn't matter who is stronger because Vitali will stop him inside of 6.

He's still got a ways to go, to be "in shape", but their training is getting a lot more harder and longer. He is running between 6-8 miles a day at 3500 feet elevation.

Hes not that big that he could lift that much, and his arms are too long to promote that much weight.
hey, hitman, I will ask him next time I see him how much he can bench. Or I will go down to the gym and see. I will keep you posted, just remind me when I am on. Probably won't get that info from you for a day or two. But I will find out.

Oh, and no one seems to even acknowlage the fact that Rahman has a two inch reach on VK. If he utilizes that, the results could be devastating.

The only thing that scares me about Klitschko - Rahman is ROCK's jab. It's very quick and snappy for a large heavy I think it's going to pose some problems along with his reach. With Vitali's inactivity, this fight could be really close. I don't think I'm going to bet on this one just yet, I'll definetly have to wait and see.

yeah the reach advantage is the reason i think itd be hard for him to bench so much weight.

im 6'4 but i have the reach of someone 6'8, because of that i always had a hard time bench pressing a lot of weight. ive never seen anyone put up over 500 who wasnt short and squatty (or on steroids) which rahman definately isnt.
