I just want Joe to fight someone good. I'd prefer a Calzaghe/Lacy fight, as if Joe won he would silence his critics. If he went up to fight Tarver people would accuse him of ducking Lacy, and the Tarver fight would probably happen anyway if Joe beat Lacy.

I dont think anyone would accuse Calzaghe of ducking Lacy if he fought Tarver. Rightly or wrongly Tarver is known as a bigger, better and more dangerous opponent than Lacy.

I dont really care who he fights, Lacy has done a lot of talk but Tarver did avoid the Calzaghe fight a couple of years ago, so he has unfinished business with both of them.

I dont think Lacy or Tarver will duck Calzaghe, but they will probably want a lot of money, i expect Tarver to want more than he is worth so it could be difficult to make.

Lets first see if Calzaghe can do something at supermiddleweight like fighting Lacy, Kessler or Beyer. Tarver still has plenty of Lightheavyweights to fight so there is no need to pick a smaller man to fight.

Calzaghe is a big super middle, he should be at light heavy anyway, so i see the move there as the best option.

Kessler = no win situation, he's tough and doesnt pay well, even if he beats him nobody will care.

Lacy = Even though i consider Kessler a harder fight i think its a match worth making, there's a lot of hype around him but he's still not as big a fight as Tarver.

Beyer = Isnt even worth talking about, nobody respects or rates him because Germany has such a bad reputation. I'm dont normal care about location but you have to KO your opponent to win there and even then the ref is likely to stop you from doing that(Ottke vs Reid & Beyer vs Green I). Maybe if they fought in any other country i'd entertain that idea.
