Contradicting today’s online press release from the camp of heavyweight contender Mariusz Wach, Wladimir Klitschko business manager Bernd Boente told ESPN boxing scribe Dan Rafael that Wach is NOT being considered for a fight against the world heavyweight champion.

During his chat session today on ESPN, Rafael said, “According to Bernd Boente, who I emailed with today, that is not a fight they are looking at, which is no surprise, since Wach is an unknown with no particular resume. That is not to say he isn’t any good. Just means he has no business in a heavyweight championship fight at this stage of his career.”

This contradicts the Wach camp’s claim that Klitschko business adviser Shelly Finkel was ready to offer Wach a deal to fight the champion if current negotiations with an unnamed heavyweight contender fell through.
