Jose Benavidez is suppose to be a prodigy. And the next big thing. But look at his resume at 19 years old compared to Saul Alvarez. Saul was schooling guys with great records at 19 and Jose is fighting guys with bad records. Why arent they making this guy step up in good competition?

I say match him up against Paul Malignaggi next

Jose Benavidez is 19 years old. And fighting guys like

    Fernando Rodriguez 5-1-0
    James Hope 6-7-1
    Corey Alarcon 14-17-1

    Combined Opponent record: 25-26-2

Saul Alvarez at 19 years old and fought guys like....

    Antonio Fitch 12-1-0
    Euri Gonzalez 17-0-1
    Michel Rosales 23-2-0
    Jeferson Luis Goncalo 19-3-3
    Carlos Leonardo Herrera 21-1-0
    Marat Khuzeev 18-4-1
    Lanardo Tyner 21-2-0

    Combined Opponent Record: 131-13-5

how about instead of ****ting on people and trying to discredit every single fighter-- we acknowledge that BOTH Benavidez and Canela are doing great things at a young age...???

don't you think that might be the most logical, classy, and reasonable thing to do?

i mean, compare either of them to us-- who are posting on an internet message board??

The reason is that Alvarez started as a pro when he was 15 and fought all the bums then every fighter has a few padded wins early on,and Benavidez will fight a few more as he is American and they will want to build him up and not put him in with a dangerous opponent as he may loose, its all about getting experience and building confidence early in supposedly future champions careers, look at what the americans did to Fernando Vargas they basically fed him to Felix Trinindad, they will not want that to happen again and even then he didnt go out without a fight.
