This guys last fight was a headliner and his next fight september 17th is going to be nationally televised with him the main event. i think they should keep having him the fight before the main event to help promote him. Like just before pacquiao fights ect or cotto whatever.

A bad thing in what way?

Oscar was headlining small cards at this stage as well.

But, you right that he should be on the televised undercards of the big PPV events.

thing is oscar was popular even throughout the ametuers. Jose is no where near as popular as Oscar. I think were going to see another Roy Jones, a guy with all the star power but not much ppv $$$

I don’t know about that, if anything Top Rank is good at it is “effective” match making.

They could play it safe with this kid for a while by giving him spoon-fed opponents like GBP is doing with Canelo, then depending how well he progresses give him a star slot headlining PPV card with a credible opponent.

Depending on how he does he could soar to new heights ala Manny P. or they could just make a few dollars giving him meaningful fights and then cash out ala Cotto/Pavlik.
