A fight he could easily have lost.

You want to be 100% prepared when facing a monster like Manfredo, good call.

That is some solid advice if someone can actually advance their career while fighting Peter Manfredo~

has there ever been a more protected undefeated 'champion' than Jr. -- for Pete's sake, he's going to retire undfeated without facing a top tier guy....

Could Hearns upset Jr.s reign of terror. Is Jr. reliable enough to fight a C level guy as a tune up for a B level guy? Or visa versa? Oh yeah, and avoid all the A level guys. Zbik would have gotten the decision in Europe, but the Chavez name has pull.

my boxing colleagues - remember that chavez didn't have an amateur career. at least i don't think he did. basically, he is where most professional boxers were 10 years ago experience wise. but i agree, now that he has the WBC belt it's time to only fight legit challengers. I thhink Zbik is one of those fighters who is just a tad below world class, but pretty damn good. Manfredo is a huge step down, so is Hearns. Also 160 isn't the deepest class. . . He will have to face Sergio in 2012 if he wants to keep his strap

He would have ko'd Jr with how many flush shots he landed and how Jr has no defense or head movement at all. Its amazing though that Zbik has gotten this far being so featherfisted.

they wouldn't have given zbik the regular belt and set him up to be chavez's opponent.

yeah, chavez jr should just move forward and face manfredo, he can face hearns after he's faced rubio or martinez. whatever happen to chavez jr/ishida? haha
