I could be way off the mark there, maybe that was a wacky thing to suggest?
It just seems to me that first you identify the problem, then you research/plan, then you implement the solution.
Experience is the key to everything in life.
Pavlik does not appear to have a firm grip on his life at present.
He needs to talk to somebody who does not have a personal interest in him.
Not a family member, not a member of his team, but someone who is in the game, and has been around the block a couple times.
