Arreola is a glorified B level guy who has a fan friendly personality and is obviously well connected in the sport -- this is why he keeps getting propped up with these kinds of fights -- people make $$$ when he lands a big payday so after every loss to a top tier guy, he'll be spoonfed 'opponents' to look good against

I appreciate Chris's new dedication to the sport and him staying active and all but for the love of God step up your level of opposition. Michael Grant, Eddie Chambers, heck even fight James Toney or something! He's planning on going from fighting 6 or 7 meter maids to fighting a Klitschko. Not going to work out good for you Arreola.

exactly, he's never even beaten a top 20 fighter, yet all the hype.
i agree, een fight a james toney, rahman, grant, god even holyfield, ray austin, Jean marc mormeck, oliver mccall, even a SHANNON BRIGGS

insread of fighting those 5 bums, he could have have fought these 8 NAMES(hasbeens) mentioned, but would give him bit more repsoect

truth is, he would get PASTED by th elikes of

            POVETKIN, HELENIUS, BOYTSOV

would lvoe to see him with CHAGAEV or haye, dimitrenko

Im not a arreolla hater, but judge him by his boxing skills, not his Character

The only hype he receives is that hes a balls to the wall type of guy. Boxers should be judged by the entertainment the provide the fans, skills are worthless if nobody wants to see you fight.

arreola's going to fight no hopers and stay in shape until his next big fight (against wladimir klitschko)

maybe you'll get one "eliminator" type fight, but most of the other guys have already faced wladimir, so that doesn't make a ton of sense, does it?

                boxing is a business, guys
                risk/reward

                period

it wouldn't be here if people weren't making money off of it
                people wouldn't box
                there would be no boxing.

profiteering isn't about "oh, we'll make this much money and then ok, time to give back to the fans and ruin our chances of making more of it."

do you really expect somebody to allow a business to fold over to entertain the fans?
                cmon

arreola needs this to stay in shape and get ready to fight the only worth while HW, the russian with the belts who gets you the big paydays in germany

Arreola is a nighmare matchup for a potshotting runner like Gaye. How easily people forget that a crude Cruisweight like Fragomeni had Haye cut over his eye and on his back foot all night long.
Excellent post -- right on the mark.

There are four fighters ranked in the top ten by Ring magazine that neither of the Klit bros have fought. They are Boystov, Dimitenko, Povetkin and Helenius. There is no reason that I can fathom that Arreola can't fight one of those four. Well, I guess the problem is on both sides but I would bet good money that Helenius would step up to the challenge. Oh, and by the way, the Klit bros are from the Ukraine so they are not Russian.
