hmmmmmmmmmm I buy all the big fights, but this one erks me,,,,,instead of it becoming a great challenge for the crown its more like:
Stepping into the water of a strong lefty to see where I am at by MR. FRAUD!!! I may wait to see it the next week or forget it.
I don't dislike ORTIZ, I hope he cleans Mr. FRAUDS clock but although he redeemed himself in the Berto fight he exposed himself with the lunging bad defense, taking shots he didn't see coming.
Ortiz must have a jab, it must be accurate, it must have pop and he needs to snap it out there more than often and not be afraid to come in behind the jab with both hands on MR. Fraud
ORTIZ ought to be stronger than MR. FRAUD , he can't be wild, he can't bum rush but he can't stay away , get inside and use short crisps shots, get Mr. FRAUD on the ropes and beat the $#!T outa him.
Use the Jab to set up the straight left, pressure using the jab, down up, right hooks to Frauds left side then the straight left behind it with pressure. Ortiz must get down on his @$$ from the sound of the bell til FRAUD is counted out or he will be ROBBED in the cards.
ORTIZ has got to do that until MR. FRAUD drops because he cannot win a decision,,,,,,just like CASTILLO ONE the judges will NOT give this fight to ORTIZ. They will ROB Ortiz just like Lara was Robbed in the Williams fight,,,, Money RULES the day, not MR. Money FRAUD but GREENBACKS!!!
so a word to Mr. ORTIZ,,,you gotta go out there and KO MR. FRAUD and you can't QUIT,, no YOU MUST have the mind to PRESSURE FIGHT FOR 12 rounds,,, behind a piston like JAB,,, and never ever let up but some where in the mix you must KO this rat or you will not get the decision.

Mayweather-Ortiz will do similar #s to Mayweather-Hatton and would be lucky to reach Mayweather-Marquez buys.
And when is this 'push' starting exactly? I haven't heard a single person mention this fight outside of b.s. and other sites. I live in NYC and normally whenever there's a big fight around the corner, seems like EVERYONE is talking about it no matter where I am (subway, street, bar, etc). There is absolutely no buzz about this fight outside of Floyd fans, and even then a lot of them are 'eh' about it. Ortiz isn't seen as a threat to Floyd, which is a key ingredient to hype for his fights (Marquez being the only anomaly but that fight was given a few extra months to marinate). Plus Vic isn't known to the general public and Floyd isn't doing his usual 'bad guy' schtick... at least not yet.
Guess we'll have to wait until the 24/7 premieres but Schaefer is completely off once again.

Wow @ people still doubting Floyd's PPV power. I remember when Numero Uno was supposedly gonna bomb with 500-600k plus the so called boycott from Pinoys. And Maywweather-Mosley was not gonna surpass DLH-Mosley[900k]. Both times were wrong, you fools keep on doubting Floyd. Watch Mayweather-Ortiz surpass Mayweather-Mosley's 1.5 and dummies will say it was not because of Floyd, it was because of Alvarez and Morales. Yeah because Morales' last PPV numbers when he was still decent was like 300k and Alvarez has never headlined a HBO PPV, and i'm sure fight fans all over Mexico are eager to pay $50 dollars to see Alvarez vs the great Alfonso Gomez, and a battle between two blown up featherweights Morales vs Barrios for the vacant WBC 140 title, which neither of them deserve. The only real good fight there is Mayweather-Ortiz. Good luck to all of you trying to sleep at night, trying to convince yourself still that it's not Floyd who generating these numbers, after the PPV numbers come up.

This fight will do 1.6+ ppv buys. With the names on the card and the fact that it is Mexican Independence weekend, I wouldn't be surprised if it does near 2 million ppv buys. Mayweather Ortiz isnt mayweather-pac but its an intriguing fight, mainly to see if floyd still has the skill to toy with a young brawler. Also Mayweather aint getting any younger, hes 34 and cant keep his speed forever, which gives vic a chance. Alvarez and Morales will help add to the mexican viewership. Alvarez is the most popular fighter among mexicans and mexican americans already. Love him or hate him, but Floyd is the ppv king right now. His last 3 ppv buys have been better that pacs last 3 ppv buys. For those saying theres no buzz for this fight, wait til the 24/7 kicks off. Thats when the buzz kicks in. Mayweather will do his thing, and Ortiz will bring a new storyline and he will benefit for the show because he has an interesting background and unique personal hobbies.

WHO EVER Floyd steps in the ring with is of "no threat". Every other fighter from 140-154 no matter who it is is the threat and will KO Floyd in seconds. Then when he does fight THAT fighter, its everyone else is a threat. Its process that repeats itself.
Same shyt different restroom. Nobody will ever be happy with WHO Floyd fights even when he gets in the ring with Pac. The outcome will result to even more hate than he has now.
With Floyd's mouth and attitude I cant imagine all the things he will say in the "I told you so" speech/rant/trash talk post fight interview. You think Floyd has haters now? Imgine after he fights Pac and makes Pac look less than average like Mosley did. Hate will be put on a whole new level and at the end of the day.... Floyd will still be a coward because he's ducking ...(INSERT NAME) because Pac was "too small" and started out at 108lbs. I bet some ******s will say Pac didn't look good because he had to take blood tests and insinuate that giving blood made him look like he did vs Mosley or by taking the test didn't allow him to do steroids. You know the excuses will pore in.
The Topic of the thread.
By September, I think A LOT of people will know who Ortiz is and I think the "he's knocked every fighter he's faced down" will be over played. Hell Berto will be promoted just as much. At the end of the day I think it will be the best fight of the year at the time.
In November, I think JMM will make it interesting early because he knows how to fight Pac but will lose in a short but exciting night. PPV wise, I think Mayweather Ortiz will do just as much as Pac JMM III. If Pac cant sell more PPV's than Floyd this year per fight, then he has no argument on WHO's the biggest cash cow. This is his chance, maybe he can figure out how to hide the fact that he's fighting a LW and that this LW is Floyd's left overs at WW....
Mayweather vs Ortiz is what boxing's all about.... Pac vs JMM III is what boxing was all about 3-4 years ago.Last edited by WESS; 08-02-2011, 05:37 PM.
