              It happens because fighters don't always want to fight each other, they rather fight other fighters just so they don't lose. Seems like fighters in the past fought the best in front of them and didn't look at boxing like a business but a sport they loved to do.

                      they've always fought for money man they just got paid a whole lot less in the past and HAD to fight more..no 2 turns pro for love,they turn pro to get paid
