Some fight that happened a decade ago has no bearing at all on today, you would have to known nothing about the current scene or just be a blind nutthugger to think Marg has a good chance of winning now, it might as well have been a different fighter he beat in 01.

If you watch the first fight carefully you will see that Martinez is the exact same fighter then that he is today. Sure he's bulked up a little but his style and combination patterns are identical.

This would be a very good fight if signed because Tony's pressure style and Martinez habit of getting dragged into brawls will make it a tough fight for him. Tony is much better on the inside and will have a lot more power at 154 than he did against pac drained at 150.

I'd give a slight edge to Martinez but it would be a close tough competitive fight.

This still doesn't change the fact that Martinez is calling out a banned ***** ***g*t like Margarito who couldn't even beat Pac or Mosley and hasn't won a significant fight in 2 years. This is cherry picking at its best.

I think it's all about money, Margarito is the biggest payday I can see Martinez getting besides, Pac, Hopkins, Mayweather or Cotto. And it's pretty clear that Cotto won't be fighting Martinez, so he's going for Margarito.

Haven't we been seeing alot of cherry picking matches over the last 5 years???? What's so different about this one?

True, but Tony's only fight so far outside of that tuneup where he looked amazing is the Pac fight where he spent all camp just making weight.

If he beats Cotto, even this Cotto, and does it impressively he has to be taken seriously because Martinez has been in a lot of wars lately and is no spring chicken himself.

Both guys have a ton of experience too which goes a long way in boxing.

Hmmmmm, I don't see it that way, and also technically the U.S. Laws don't see it that way.

When you get caught with "attempted murder" they're not like you can go home, or get caught with the intent to buy drugs you're still charged right????

But it is what it is, all I know is either way he gets destroyed by Martinez.
