According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, veteran referee Russell Mora has been selected to be the third man in the ring when Joseph Agbeko faces Abner Mares in the finals of Showtime's bantamweight tournament. Agbeko's IBF championship will be up for grabs. The fight takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on August 13th.

One of my good friends knows Mora from when he fought in the amateurs and he told me he was a cool guy. Refs are people like anyone else and they make mistakes, but he has made too many in my opinion. The fight that really made me dislike him was Katsidis vs Guerrero. The knockdown was questionable and that didn't piss me off. But When he deducted Katsidis for the low blows without warning him that pissed me off. Katsidis was throwing a lot good body shots that were hurting Guerrero. Most of those shots were on the belt and some were borderline but he acted way to quickly with that point deduction.
