If Bernard Hopkins beats Taylor by Split decision or MD , should there be a trilogy? a third fight? Please let me know your comments on this one. Taylor won the first fight in Split decision too.

I'm with no on this. Bernard wishes to retire within a year or whatever so rather than pull out a 3rd fight he should move on to get another victory over somebody else. Also, odds of there being a split decision on the rematch is slim to nill I'd say.

Don't know how much a market will be available to a 40 yr old fighter with a boring style. Probably the money would manuver him into a Roy rematch if he continues to fight on which seems unlikely given his previous statements.

Ideally, there should be, but either way, there won't be. There's just not enough time for Hop to fight Taylor again if he wants to fight Winky in January.

But that's besides the point. If Hop wants to win this one he needs a knockout. The judges will look for any excuse to give the round to Taylor. If Hopkins wins, it will be bad for boxing. Hence, Hopkins won't win a decision.

I know this is a slight threadjack, but Duane Ford did it again with his excellent unbiased view on Saturday, scoring the fight for Pacquiao.

I went with tough to call...IMO though the last fight was at best for Taylor a draw he did not Win plain and simple so if Hopkins wins I think it should settle the score and same if Taylor wins.Hopkins stops him this time IMO tho to leave no doubts.

Exactly right there. Expect the HBO crew to be very pro-Taylor as well, everyone will be hoping for a convincing victory on his part.

Think about what a mess it will be if Hopkins wins and then retires with the belts. We then have no active champion, and the top contender (Taylor) having been beaten by the aging champ. The prestige of the division will drop to next to nothing. Hell, it already has a credibility problem even with Hopkins in there.

Oh yeah and this is coming from someone who is a Hopkins fan but who though Taylor won the fight. Just to get my allegiances out in the open, which seems necessary these days if you don't want to get called a "***".

i say no, if Taylor had won "convincingly" in their first fight, maybe, but if Hopkins pull off the win in December, he's earned it. With all the talk about Hopkins being "past his time" or "too old", it's kinda dumb to think he's gonna want to use his last two or three fights with Taylor again. Plus he said at the press conference (or maybe Taylor said) that there would not be a third fight.

If hopkins wins, he deserves to go on to different competition.
