In one of the most horrible title mismatches in a long-long time, incapable and hugely undeserved Brazilian challenger Mike Miranda (34-4, 31 KOs) was destroyed by hard-charging Kiev-based Russian Zaurbek Baysangurov (26-1, 20 KOs) in just 51 seconds of the opening bell at the Odessa Palace of Sports in Odessa, Ukraine. The "fight" shouldn't have been sanctioned for any version of the world title in the first place, but it had been allowed by the World Boxing Organization to fill in a vacancy of a so-called "WBO interim light middleweight championship".

Predictable craptastic "title" fight. Miranda has been smoked every time he's fought anyone with a pulse. There is a reason he is ranked 167th at 154 by boxrec. Do Zaurbek's promoters or the alphabet boys have so little confidence in him that they felt like they needed a setup win over a patsy like Miranda to win a "title" belt? Sad

Clearly Baysangurov's handlers used influence to force the WBO to make such a ridiculous matchup.

They basically bought this title and Baysangurov deserves the criticism because he sucks and K-9 whooped his sorry ass.

Tunney, I am not downplaying the WBO's smelly role in this, but I find it hard to believe Zaurbek's promoters have clean hands in this travesty.
