Ok lets get this straight he only lost to Jr and pAC both r future ATG's??? i mean both Jr and pAC r once in a life time talents and he just fell short but he gave it a good shot against jr and pAC is a speed demon that hits like a mule for hes size!!! and how is he a BUM?? if u r the 1# contenders and u r in the top 5 or even top 10 how r u a BUM??? this is plain ridiculous!!! Hatton is first ballot sure thing for hall of fame. Before the time he fought kostya, outside of England, he was Franks coddled ticket seller. I have had three truly jaw dropping moments in boxing in last 10years, 1. Tarver connecting with Roy. 2. Diegos comeback 3. Hatton making Tszyu quit with three minutes left. Ricky won a lot of fights nobody thought he could, he had B level skills no doubt about it, but that makes his career even more impressive. The man earned his shots at the two greatest fighters in the world, and took those L's like a real man does- very hard. He's a smart guy hanging them up now, he has a great legacy. I'll never forget Ricky Hatton, his wins made him great, his losses made him immortal.

Hatton was a bum never fought anyone tough till the end of his meager career, nothing but a human punching bag with a bunch of drunks following him around. Great post this is right on. When it was time to train and get in the ring all the bull**** aside Hatton was training at a world class level and it was proven by his relentless style through every round of every fight. He was a 120mph at every second and his ring generalship was too much for the competition. Looking back at the Floyd fight have you ever seen another fighter dictate to Floyd the pace of the fight? He was all heart and I always looked up to Hatton because he fought to the very end. Pride in Battle.

No, he beat top level competition. He only lost to two guys who will end up ATG top 20, possibly higher. There's no shame in that. Cotto would have been ****ed up quickly against Pac as well had he not run for his life.

Hatton was underrated by a lot of people and overrated by some as well. He'll get into the HOF no doubt.

In his article about JC Chavez, Cliff Rold said he was the best boxer analyzed in his series on “measured against all time”… I would add probably Ricky Hatton (with the possible exception of Dariusz Michalszevski) is the worst…It’s true that Kostya Tszyu, who was beaten by Hatton, is in Canastota, but sincerely I didn’t understand how a boxer who lost the two hardest fights of his career has been elected at first ballot…
