It's funny how the referee in the fight was the same one from the khan-judah fight also involving a low blow call.

this makes my boy sillakh look all the better - maybe i was wrong about him not quite being ready for the belt holders yet, because despaigne looked pretty polished despite being young in the pro game. but it's hard to tell how much of a measuring stick miranda is these days.

It's a shame to see how far Edison has fallen. He is officially a bum in a sport that he was once highly regarded.

Miranda was actually doing really good when the ref stopped it from a low-blow.

I really think Miranda could have knocked Despaigne out. Despaigne was winning by points no doubt but Miranda was landing nice body shots and slowing Despaigne down in my opinion. And I think Miranda didn't really mean to go low as much as he did it happens when you throw body-shots sometimes.

They say those boxers have steel plate on their protection so if thats true why do some boxers have to overract when they're hit down there? Rios didn't yet Despaigne and some other fighters do.

the 1st point deduction was BS the others were legit -- Miranda had no control of where his punches landed -- yet it would have been interesting to see how the fight would have gone into the later rounds -- Miranda now officially irrelevant

drakulich really blew the 1st point dedurction w/no warning...just as the 3rd? when Miranda was punching in combination w/his head being pushed down...should not have been a DQ, but the end was near as Miranda was slow and sluggisg w/his punches having no effect....still , the cuban won't beat Ismayl Sillakh in a rematch, nor would anyone else out there...hopkins may stay away from him....management needs to keep Sillakh busy and on tv, not fighting in Russia....

Am I the only one who felt Miranda was coming on and bothering Despaigne a bit? I'd like to see a rematch because DQ's suck. Vic Drakulich did great for the judah fight but he failed for the Despaigne/Miranda fight.

Some of those shots looked closer to the belt line then the crotch, he failed with giving warnings. Plus atlas says that the protection around your crotch is steel made material. So if thats true it should protect every fighter quite good. I didn't see Rios crying when he got hit in the balls several times by Peterson.

I know Miranda hits hard but I feel fighters generally overreact sometimes. I think some fighters like quick nights because they get paid and leave early.

cayo needs to train basic defense. being around sergio and having sergio's trainer ain't going to help this kid if he keeps this shit up. this dude is going to suffer some serious brain damage if he keeps leaning forward and ducking down to get hit consistently behind the head like that. i thought he would've given maidana a tougher fight if he had any sort of defense.
