Miguel Cotto is a great of this era

I'm neither Puerto Rican nor Mexican so as a neutral observer I have to say that I am shocked how some people talk of Miguel Cotto. Just take a look at his record, Cotto's resume reads:

Torres: undefeated, came back to win a championship
Malignaggi: undefeated, came back to win a championship
Maussa: undefeated, came back to win a championship
Quintana: undefeated, came back to win a championship
Judah: came back to win a championship
Mosley: became THE welterweight champion after Cotto loss
N'dou: came back to win a championship
Clottey: was forced to vacate his IBF title so Cotto would've been unified champ
    Foreman: undefeated
Not to forget he beat former champions like Cesar Bazan & Corley.

Cotto has 2 losses: 1 to a confirmed cheater and 1 to a suspected cheater. I'm not saying Pac is a cheat but there's no shame in losing to a 8 division champ. But if you want to give a cheater the benefit of the doubt then that's a real shame.

Cotto is a true warrior and great of the modern era - boxing needs more fighters like him.

Cotto was a very good fighter, and in his prime was a serious threat to just about anybody. I don't know where I would rank him in the 2000's, but he is definitely in the top 10 I would think. Tough to say though.

I've read your articles on Cotto before so I'm sure the majority of people on here disregard what you have to say.

i agree cotto is among the bests of this era...

but cotto himself, if memory serves, never alluded his losses to being cheated...

that also shows his sportsmanship and what a great person cotto is.....

he does not dwell long on the losses..he moves on....

He also took out 2 undefeated former Olympians, both guys beat him in the Olympics and one of them won the Gold medal.

I think you have the Maussa fight mixed up too. Maussa won his title beating Harris, then lost it to Cotto. He never became anything after that. Foreman had a belt when he beat him too - wasnt just undefeated.

Definitely a standout but surely on his way out now.

BTW, If Pollo Valenzuela didn't detach his retina, I think he could have beat Cotto back then.
