Comments Thread For: Edison Miranda Believes His Career Best is Still Ahead

Anyone can have confidence but to compete at the highest levels of professional boxing you also have to carry with you a certain resilience and stubbornness in order to get past the bumps along the way. The sweet science is a cruel and unforgiving sport and coming back from setbacks and defeat show us the kind of characters that the athletes possess.

Will someone tell this dude the truth about his career? He has already reached the heights he's going to reach in boxing. The Joe Goosen experiment was unsuccessful, and Bute was his last stand. Now he's about to lose to one of the worst active Cuban fighters. That's it, that's all.

He has a good chance at beating Despainge who is green, and just off of his 1st loss in a total beating against TBR.

I agree with all of this. Edison is a delusional sort, so he may actually believe what's coming out of his mouth. If he indeed loses to Despaigne, whom he's viciously trashed, he may as well hang 'em up.

Miranda looked good against Bute.... right up until he got ****y and caught. He looked like more of a boxer as far as his movements and attitude in the ring. But, I haven't seen any of his fights since, so I don't know if he's still applying them or not.

Miranda looked like such an idiot in that fight...all that posturing and clowning around, just to get KTFO in short order. He's only had one more fight since then, at light heavyweight. The Bute fight was at super middleweight, this next affair is, once again, at 175.

hey, so does Holyfield and probably Cotto! -- Miranda is on the cusp of becoming a gate keeper and 'opponent' for oher guys to look good against on their way up (or down)

It's not hard to believe that Miranda's best is ahead of him considering he has done j@ck **** in his career and lost every single notable fight in embarrassing fashion.

Heck if he beat Despaigne is would be far and away the biggest win of his entire career.

Miranda is already a gatekeeper. I'd be surprised if he can even maintain that!
