    Watched Gene Tunney-Dempsey 1 last night and dam

    Tunney beat that ass,he was slick,agile and threw fluid combo's damn good fighter only lost 1 time and that was to Harry Greb

    If I remember correct, Dempsey was relatively inactive around that time.

    Still I guess Tunney had his number per say.

      Yes he was inactive for 3 years,but the rematch was no different.

          Yes the rematch was no different even if it was controversial.

          I would love to have seen the Tunney/Greb fight, or any Greb fight for that matter.

                  "Inactive" is a nice way of saying that he was basically retired, married out in Hollywood to a film star and living it up, partying like a crazy man for over 3 years. And he was 32 years old, after having had a tough boxing life.

                  Tunney was lucky they hadn't met a few years earlier when Dempsey was younger, battle hardened and a legit killer. They were both really only light cruiserweights by todays standards, and Tunney had been the USA Light Heavy Champ just a couple of years before he fought Dempsey.
