  • Comments Thread For: Jose Alfaro: Humberto Soto Has Made a Big Mistake

Former world champion José Alfaro believes Humberto Soto, a three-time beltholder, made a big mistake by selecting him as an opponent for a September 3 headliner in Los Mochis, Mexico. Soto vacated his WBC lightweight crown and takes his first step to a world title in the junior welterweight division. Alfaro, who fought as high as welterweight, feels Soto is not strong enough to compete at 140-pounds.

Lost respect for Soto who was the original Salido. My justification for the comparison, Soto early in his career suffered many defeats only to win major titles later in his career. Similar to Salido who suffered setbacks after setbacks to finally clinch a world title against an undefeated champion in Juan Manuel Lopez.

PR's Roman Gonzales ducked Soto when Soto was WBC 130lbs champion a couple years ago.

You dont know what you're talking about.

Soto fought BUM named Gamiel Diaz for the WBC 130lbs belt (that Pacman vacated), cuase Pac was too scared to defend it against Soto.

Soto fought BUM named David Diaz for the WBC 135lbs belt (that Valero vacated), cuase Valero was too scared to defend it against Soto.

Soto said that he'll fight Rios later this year, not 2 months (in Feb 2011) after he had fought Antillon (in Dec 2010).
But Top Rank owes more than $1 Million to Soto and they dont want to pay Soto.
If Soto signed to fight Rios , his cotract automatically extends with the ones that have been ripping him off.
