Comments Thread For: Pawel Wolak Drops Ivan Edwards, To Hire Dunkin?

A day after his career-defining fight on July 15, Pawel Wolak admitted he looked like a “freak.” Gazing at his reflection in a mirror, his features distorted, Wolak was both elated and horrified by what he saw. He was excited because he knew his gutsy performance against Delvin Rodriguez instantly raised his profile, paving the way to bigger and perhaps more lucrative fights; he was shocked because the swelling he sustained in the fight had slowly extended to include the entire right side of his face. Hopefully all the hardwork and his gutsy fighting style will come in good for him in his pockets and a title shot in not a distant future. WAR+WOLAK=WARLAK!!!

yeah, i remember looking at wolak's twitter page and he was talking about this. good for him, hopefully they find him a good opponent next. a rematch would be great as well, but who knows. looking forward to hearing who his next opponent is, especially if his next bout lands on the cotto/margs undercard

Wow! 20K? He really got underpaid, especially after he got 75 K fighting Foreman undercard of Cotto and Mayorga.. Sure losses and wins matter.. BUt there's only a handful of fighter who care about cementing there legacy in Boxing today and care about belts... The rest paycheck fighters...ANd tha fans just want a good showing... Wolack did show that against Delvin... ALthough not a big fan of his style and think if he fights a boxer puncher who can maintain distance with a jab all night he can easily be beaten.. BUt i respect the fight in him.. Wolak Vs Delvin part 2 equals WAR!...

the guy is terminally underpaid, dude

you cant go out there making 20 grand in a FOTY candidate where you take a viscous amount of punishment over ten rounds

the rematch shouldn't be on ESPN

he doesn't feel his current manager is capable of managing at a higher capacity

if that rematch goes back on espn, he'll get 20 grand again
if it's on hob or showtime, he'll make three or four times that

wolak took punishment because he doesn't have defence and boxing skills in general . There are lots of boxers with good amateur career that will KO wolak silly . Boxer should not be paid by the amount of punches he takes to his head and body . He must be paid for his skills and quality of the opponent he faces . This fight was just great matchmaking like gatty vs. ward
