It would have been awesome if they would have locked eyes................and then made out.

Good post!Actually, I think this part of the face off not only diminishes your statement on "locking eyes" but also think little subtleties such as this are what are often overlooked....
It's the part where Ortiz just finished stating he was "also born for this" after interrupting Mayweather. Kellerman asked why Ortiz' eyes locked on to Mayweather after Mayweather said something.
Mayweather' breaks up the staring contest with a smile, looks at Kellerman and says "he did", and as Ortiz follows by looking at Kellerman, Mayweather turns right back to Ortiz. No, it's not an advantage or disadvantage and it may not be something that will make a difference in the ring, but it's psychological, nonetheless.
What I have noticed over the years is that Mayweather has a way of making people do what he wants be it in the ring or in interviews like this. When he fought Judah, Judah tried to mimic Mayweather's style. On the press tour, Mayweather had Shane Mosley out of character trying to talk about how fashionable and expensive his suit was when Mosley's never been a talker. The guy even has Arum and Pacquiao fighting everybody he's already dominated.
Now, in this face off, Mayweather says a lot of things and Ortiz just piggybacks off what he says, like Mayweather talking about the scorecards and making mistakes... Ortiz says, "I say the same thing, too." Really Ortiz? You always say the same thing?
So when Peterson made mistakes he was saying, 'oh he's down four rounds, I can stop piling up points'....? The things Ortiz wanted to say when Mayweather told him to say what his game plan was on the 17th, Mayweather ended up finishing for him.
Yeah, it wasn't fireworks like Hopkins-Pascal was, but there was just as much going on in that face off as there was in the latter.Comment
