It looks like the WBO middleweight championship between reigning beltholder Dmitry Pirog (18-0, 14 KOs) and his obligatory challenger Gennady Martirosyan (22-2, 11 KOs), the first ever collision between two Russian pugilists in the history of boxing, will be moved one day behind the originally scheduled date. The fight will most probably take its place on September 25 (not on September 24 as was reported before) in the same city of Krasnodar.

Im sure the boxing world cant wait for this one sided fight.. Pirog all day everyday...Pirog shld fight Martinez, Golovkin or even Abraham who's comin back to his original weight...Unless a Euro fighter stops fighting weak Euro competition and step up to American fighters no one will really care...

Gennady Martirosyan is in fact an Armenian as well as David Avanesyan and Karen Tevosyan....so I guess its not Russian against Russian

i really wish pirog's people would build him a name. just fight in england or canada if the US isn't what they want. guys like mora, zbik, manfredo, spinks, or even ishida (maybe) will get him talked about more. obviously fighting in germany and russia against no-names who can't even be considered in the top 25 of the middleweight division isn't doing much for him.
