Bobby Pacquiao's Freddie Roach - New Respect

-I have a lot much more respect for him now because he said what he thought after the fight.

This was from a MB Article:

All three of the ringside press judges who scored the bout for Showtime's broadcast had Hernandez winning the bout. Even Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, thought Hernandez did more than enough to earn the decision.

"Hernandez won the fight; he out-hustled us," said the classy and honest veteran trainer.

good thread. yea its tru it was close yea but in a way it wasnt becuz hernandez outworked and outpowered pac. pac barely did enough to win any rounds 3-8. he got a couple combos in but the salvadorian bull was too much for him. i scored it 96-95 for famoso. even with the knockdown there is no way pac won. if it wouldve been called a draw i wouldnt complain but no he did not win.

nice thing for freddie to say tho.. gives him a good image.

Hernandez CLEARLY outhustled, and outworked Bobby. In no way is this fight even CLOSE to bobby pac winning. I had the fight 8 rounds to 4.

Good to see Roach speaking his mind, he's an honest an honorable man.

i have yet to see the fight, but the weird thing is that one judge had it hernandez over pacquiao by a huge margin, where the other two judges scored it a close win for pacquiao. doesn't this seem weird to anybody else - that one judge was so far apart from the other two?

anyway glad pac got the decision, but i'll have to watch the fight to see if he truly deserved it.

well i scored the fight even...but after watching it 3 times i had b-pac winning by a single margin...famoso must have won 4 of the last five rounds but at least 5 rounds after the kd were all too close to call. it cold have gone the other way around. but the two judges must have been looking for something from famoso that obviously he didn't deliver.

i give props to freddie for being honest...but it's his own opinion. i give gredit to b-pac though for showing heart and determination to win the fight. he was relentless all throughout the fight. he rather looked awkward in most of the rounds but in no way he was hurt by famoso. even in the rounds that famoso was winning, b-pac didn't stop on his attack and it could be the reason why he arned the two judges' nod. it wasn't a robbery like some people thought it was...on the contrary it was a boxing at its best two warriors with different styles and the better man emerged victorious...and that's all there is to it!

I just don't see that at all.

It was clearly a win for Famoso.

              6-4 at the absolute worst.

              Even Freddy knew.

i just don't think famoso did everything he could to eke out an easy win. yes he prolly won 6 of those rounds which will make it a one-point decision for him but i saw at least 5 rounds of that fight wherein either fighter wasn't clearly the winner. it was hard hard to call who clearly won those rounds...but of course it's only my humble opinion.

I had Pacquiao winning a close bout myself. He definitely won the first 4 rounds, 5th could've gone either way, 6th for Pacquiao, 7-9 for Hernandez, 10th could've gone either way. The ones that could've gone either way I just gave to Hernandez.

So I had it for Pacquiao 95-94 at the most possibe in my eyes. It was a close fight. Had it been a 12 rounder, Hernandez would've won. I'm glad Bobby Pacquiao beat him.
