If Khan KO'ed Judah, Calzaghe KO'ed Hopkins

Same exact thing except the ref in cal vs. bhop was blind, possibly ******ed, and most definitely biased.

What? Those two shots are nothing alike you ******.

Khan hit him ON THE BELTLINE

Calzaghe did connect with Hopkins in his balls, but Hopkins DIDNT GO DOWN and stayed up, complaining to the ref and was given time to recover.

Judah stayed down and tried to get Khan disqualified

    Theres the difference.

I should charge for this education, but this one's on the house

Youre new to this boxing thing right? Its cool, watch the Calzaghe vs. Hopkins fight sometime, not the most exciting, but you really should watch fights before commenting on them. Its cool, you gotta start out somewhere.

and in case others are new here. Hopkins faked 2 low blows, in the 10th he went down for several seconds on a punch that clearly hit on the belt line.

Well I certainly want to charge for THIS education, but you probably have no money so I'll let it go this time. Judah WAS hit low. The still picture, at time and point of impact, show this clearly. The "plimsoll" line was indicated by the ref as being the TOP of the wide trunks beltline, and the knuckle of the glove was far below this. the rest of the glove was even lower. This is not to say that it was a LOW LOW punch. It wasn't the kind to incapacitate, but Judah was entitled to his 5 minutes recovery time. Assuming he said he couldn't continue he could have won by DQ, but the ref's discretion likely would not have allowed this for that sort of low punch. Otherwise, he was well on the way to being beaten.

Now to the protective gear. The "cup" is not just a cup it is also a lower body pad, and is proof against almost any kind of normal low blow, as can be shown when in the normal course of a fight, many low blows are struck without either fighter even showing any notice, even when on the cup. The CUP, (used to be made of metal) is likely made of very stong plastic and even if a gloved fist strikes squarely on it, is not likely to do any damage. ometimes the edges of the cup are driven into the body, causing temporary discomfort, The main danger, is if the cup has shifted a bit allowing the vital parts to be caught between an edge and the rest of the body. That's a "killer".

As I see it, the main problem with low blows is a fighter who wants to win a fight without having to complete the fight. And therefore, we come to Hopkins....

The Hopkins-Calzaghe fight was marred (apart from the usual Hopkins grappling, butting, lacing, etc) by many delays caused by Hopkins pretending to have been fouled so that he couldn't continue. Actually he was obviously looking for a breather, since many times he was not hit low at all, but counted on the ref not being able to see just then. He is a clever fighter.

The putative "low blow_ by Calzaghe, barely grazed Hopkins, and not only was a half hearted reflex, but more of a slap, which slid along Hopkins' side as he was turning. In NO way do I believe that it had any power on it, nor was it in a painful area. Hopkins was trying to fake a win by "thespianism........."

He wasn't KOd exactly; he pretended to be hit low and quit, so Khan wouldnt completely knock him the **** out. He's done it countless times in his career and always has an excuse for his loss.

Zab is a ***** who's claim to fame is going 1-1 with Spinks. He's mentally collapsed and quit or was KOd every time he stepped up. Ref had nothing to do with it.

calzaghe faked low blows against bika to buy time. bika ko'd calzaghe. he also held more than hopkins throughout the fight and should have been dq'd. bika has 2 wins over calzaghe.
