Comments Thread For: Ricky Hatton Discusses Scott Quigg's Win, Title Dream

Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton believes that Bury’s Scott Quigg can follow in his footsteps by bringing a world crown to Greater Manchester. Quigg pounded out a seventh-round TKO win over Franklin Varela at Bury’s Castle leisure centre on Saturday night in order to sharpen his tools ahead of an October 8th British 122lb title challenge to cagey veteran Jason Booth.

      Quigg needs to change trainers.

Quigg's looked good since stepping up, wide decision over Sassou and recently stopped Varela.

Quigg vs Varela, watch Roberts too.

Not to mention he's only 22 years old.

I’m from Bury myself and he fights down the rd from me at the castle leisure centre, that was probably his last fight there I would imagine.

He has good accuracy and a bit of pop and he is only 22 so he has lots to learn still, however I would like to see him in against Rendall Munroe before I make up my mind on him.

He looks like he couldnt offer to much against someone who has good speed and footwork at the moment.

It's a shame he's had so many fights, a fight for every year he's been alive.

Next fight is against Booth though, great fight. I hope he comes through it and looks good, then keep the level of competition consistent if not higher.
