Jorge Linares (31-1, 20KOs) advised BoxingScene.com that Antonio DeMarco (25-2-1, 18KOs) is probably going to be his next opponent, with the vacant WBC lightweight title at stake. The belt was vacated by Humberto Soto when he moved up to the junior welterweight division. The fight is reportedly being targeted for the Bernard Hopkins-Chad Dawson undercard on October 15 in New Jersey. After DeMarco, Linares told BoxingScene that he wants to unify the titles with Brandon Rios, the WBA champion.
