I don't think it will be any kind of an upset if Chagaev beats Povetkin. Chagaev was the WBA Champ and a top fighter, still unbeaten except by WK. Povetkin is basically untested and untried. Not sure if Povetkin even gets passed Chagaev. It seems Povetkin fought lesser competition ever since he paired up with Atlas. Wlad may have made Chagaev look like an easy fighter to beat up on but thats Wlad he does that with most of his opponents. I'm expecting Chagaev to give Povetkin lots of problems if not pull off a mild upset.Comment

I don't think it was Povetkin who was concerned about fighting Klitschko it was Atlas. Povetkin was getting $2 million, and, as Teddy said, when the usual accusations began to fly from the boxing sites, including this one, that he was putting the fighter's welfare above money, that he himself was giving up a $200,000 fee.to bad povetkin does not have the same confidence as valuev or we would have seen a fight between wlad and povetkin 2 years ago but he keeps finding new way to dodge wlad now he get to fight for a worthless title that belongs to chagaev in the first place but was striped of for no reason
For that I respected him, although he has tons of money, and I respect him for very little else.Comment

I don't think it has anything to do with money or Atlas even caring about Povetkin's welfare. I truly believe that, for what ever reason and as crazy as it sounds, Teddy hates the Klit bros so much that his ego will not allow a fighter that he trained to be embarrassed by one of the bros.I don't think it was Povetkin who was concerned about fighting Klitschko it was Atlas. That's a most odd suggestion and would be impossible, except that it's Teddy, and as you say, he hates the Klitschkos. I find it hard to understand the word "hate" the way it's usually thrown around here, and in truth I can't actually hate anyone, even the guy who used to call himself "Raven" by coincidence, on another site, (as different from you as chalk is from cheese) who disgusted me so often, so long, and so much that I abandoned the site, which I actually liked. They'd even asked me to write for them about 4-5 times.I don't think it has anything to do with money or Atlas even caring about Povetkin's welfare. So here I'd like to apologise to you, because, quite some time ago, during an exchange of posts, you suggested that we could have an amicable discussion etc and I rejected it, because of your name.
To get to the point of this post, because Teddy is unbalanced, your postulation is quite reasonable, he being such a strange, violent, gun-happy, knife-happy, sordid sort of twisted mentality.
Your suggestion is the most original, strangely practicable one I've heard since I-don't-know-when, and again, considering it's teddy Atlas we're talking about, logical.Comment

I also don't use the word hate so often, because it is just to powerful of a word and takes way to much energy, at my age, to pull off. Anyways, I honestly use to try to give Teddy the benefit of the doubt when it came to the Klit bros. However, on every FNF broadcast he seems to state somewhere along the line his strange fascination with the bros. For example what he said during the recent Wolak-Rodriguez fight. That's a most odd suggestion and would be impossible, except that it's Teddy, and as you say, he hates the Klitschkos. During the fight he stated something like,"if these two fighters were heavyweights Wlad would no longer be the champion." I am paraphrasing so I may not have it exact but it even got a little more bizarre after the fight. That is when Teddy said something to Rodriguez about himself and Wolak being heavyweights and being able to beat Wlad. The look on Rodriguez's face was priceless. Like, "What the F are you talking about Teddy?"
What I find to be really strange is that Teddy somehow believes that two, for lack of a better word, sub-par Jr Middleweights could somehow beat Wlad say if they gained seventy pounds. But, yet his own charge, Povetkin, who is supposed to be a word class elite heavyweight is somehow not ready. Isn't that really bizarre?
And considering the fact that Teddy is supposed to be a professional commentator. I am surprised that ESPN hasn't said something to him about all the anti-Klit bro comments. And as for any disagreements we may have had between use in the past. That is what it is the past, like water under the bridge.Last edited by Ravens Fan; 07-26-2011, 09:38 AM.Comment
