Comments Thread For: Top Rank: Showtime Still in Play For Pacquiao-Marquez

Top Rank's public relations guru Lee Samuels has advised BoxingScene.com that company CEO Bob Arum, and company President Todd duBoef, are still in the process of reviewing lucrative offers from both HBO and Showtime. No decision has been made as to which network will carry the trilogy fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, which is scheduled for November 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

I really hope not, I like HBO's team more than Showtime's, and 24/7 >>>> Fight Camp 360 as well.

Smart move to release stuff publicly saying HBO won, just trying to hold CBS' feet to the fire and put pressure on them. The decision was supposed to be made 2 weeks ago, means they've been in negotiations for a while. The HBO offer was made like a month ago. Probably trying to squeeze more $ and commitments from SHOW/CBS.

Better for boxing in general to be on showtime. More mainstream potential.

Arum has another month to make up his mind. Why would he rush the bidding war?
